The Stellenbosch University Botanical Garden (SUBG) is preparing to re-open its restaurant under a new identity at the end of September. The Botanical Café, as it will now be known, promises a refreshed luncheon and cafe-style experience in the centre of South Africa’s oldest university botanical garden. 

The café has undergone a transformative interior revamp following a recent management restructuring. Visitors can expect a fresh, contemporary look and feel that complements the lush surroundings of the Botanical Garden. 

The Botanical Café’s menu is simple and offers a selection of refreshing drinks and light meals of the highest quality. The indoor and outdoor setting is ideal for a quick coffee break, a leisurely lunch, a peaceful afternoon tea or an informal business meeting. The café promises to cater to diverse palates while the deli will focus on serving artisanal breads, gourmet condiments and seasonal salads – the perfect addition to a leisurely walk or picnic. The garden’s diverse collection of indigenous and exotic plants creates a picturesque backdrop for any occasion.
