Gradlinc partners with EdTech startup FRED to encourage student entrepreneurship

Gradlinc, a graduate recruitment startup established by Stellenbosch University (SU), is taking a proactive stance against South Africa’s staggering unemployment rate of 31.9%, as reported by a recent government media statement. This innovative initiative not only helps graduates find employment but also prepares them for the dynamic workplace ahead.

Gradlinc is an initiative of Factory209, a venture developed by Innovus, SU’s Innovation and Commercialisation Division. Factory209 is also behind successful SU-linked businesses such as Matie Shop, Maties Coffee Hub and the SU Botanical Garden Shop. This connection highlights Gradlinc’s role not only in facilitating employment but also in fostering entrepreneurial opportunities.

The graduate platform which now boasts 15 290 active users, is taking their mission one step further by partnering with FRED, an EdTech startup that specialises in upskilling and training high school and university students with the necessary skills to become successful entrepreneurs.

Through this partnership Gradlinc students can access the AI-augmented platform, providing them with a personalised AI coach and tutor that will assist students to set and achieve their personal goals. It will also provide the necessary tools to help students to enhance their employability, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities. FRED students stand to benefit from unlimited interaction with their AI Coach and Tutor, ensuring they receive tailored support to navigate both the entrepreneurial and professional landscapes.

This collaboration aims to help Gradlinc students access the tools they need for growth, confidence, and career readiness.

To take advantage of this opportunity, Gradlinc students can log into their Gradlinc profile and explore the Resources tab. Students who do not yet have an account can sign up for free here.

By bridging the gap between education and the real-world economy, Gradlinc and FRED are empowering the next generation to succeed as employees, entrepreneurs, or both.
